Beach Packing List for Destin/Ft. Walton Beach, Florida
What to pack for your beach vacation:
Clothes, of course. Swimsuit, hat, sunglasses!
SUNSCREEN. Make sure it isn't expired.
Beach towels
Flip Flops/Sandals to wear on the sundeck. Boards are hot!
Radio/Speaker
Appropriate chargers--phones, speakers, etc
Shampoo, conditioner, and soap
Gloves (ok for water) for kids who will play on the ropes. They will play until they have blisters.
Kitchen stuff: sandwich bags and aluminum foil are frequently what I wish I had packed. (I use quart bags for my iphone on the beach)
If you want to use the grills, pack your own lighter. I have never felt comfortable leaving this in the condo.
A few garbage bags, dishwasher tabs, or anything else you don't want to buy mass quantity of for 2-3 items
I buy paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, etc) at the local grocery store. There's no savings in packing it.
HE Laundry Detergent and dishwashing detergent (or buy it when you get here)
Cooler--one is provided but if you want to take your groceries home you will need your own
Florida has no grocery tax, and the local Publix always has great BOGO sales. It is usually cheaper for me to buy in town than pack groceries.
I provide beach chairs, umbrella, beach cart and/or beach wagon, hair dryers, and a start up of dishwasher tabs, garbage bags, paper towels, and toilet paper.
I supply hand soap and dishwashing liquid, and basic cleaning products under the sink. I provide all bed and bath linens (but not beach towels). Kitchens are well-stocked. I supply a
high chair and pack-n-play (but you will need your own sheet).
